Maple Apple Scones
Nothing beats a simple breakfast sweet, but it can be made that much better with a few extra hearty ingredients. This easy scone recipe incorporates oats and chopped SugarBee apples for a breakfast or afternoon treat packed with rich texture and flavor featuring notes of molasses, caramel, and honey with a touch of maple.

Ingredients
For the scones:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 SugarBee apple, thinly chopped
For the glaze:
- 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions
- Whisk together the flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Using a cheese grater, grate the butter into the dry mixture. Mix with a fork or your hands until the butter is incorporated.
- Mix in the eggs and milk. Transfer the mixture onto a well-floured countertop.
- Using your hands, knead and fold the dough multiple times. Fold the apples into the dough in three parts. Form the dough into a round and cut into 8 individual scones.
- Place the scones on a plate with a piece of parchment paper. Chill the scones in the fridge for 20 minutes while preheating the oven to 350 degrees.
- Transfer the parchment paper and scones to a baking sheet. Bake the scones for 25 minutes until lightly golden brown. Once baked, allow to cool.
- To make the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled scones.
