SugarBee® Apple Brie Flatbread with Sausage and Hot Honey
Looking for an easy, savory summer dish perfect for outdoor patio entertaining? This SugarBee® Apple, Brie, and Hot Honey Flatbread is your answer. Combining the sweet notes of honey, caramel, and molasses from SugarBee® apples, the creamy richness of Brie, and a spicy kiss of hot honey, this flatbread offers a delightful balance of flavors. Add some savory sausage for an extra layer of taste, or keep it simple and vegetarian. It’s a versatile and crowd-pleasing recipe that’s as easy to make as it is delicious, making your summer gatherings effortlessly tasty!
Makes 2 x 12-inch Flatbreads
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces mild Italian sausage (optional)
- 2 flatbread base, such as Tandoori flatbread
- 1 package brie, sliced (8 oz)
- 2 SugarBee Apples, thinly sliced
- Hot honey
- Thyme, for garnish
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350ºF
- In a skillet on the stove, cook the sausage until fully browned, breaking up into chunks using the back of a wooden spoon.
- Using a mandolin on the medium setting, slice the apples.
- On a baking sheet, assemble the flatbreads; divide sliced brie between the two in an even layer. Lay sliced apples on top, followed by sausage. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, until brie is melted and gooey.
- Transfer to a servingtray; garnish with hot honey and thyme; slice and enjoy immediately!
