SugarBee® Apple Hearts

SugarBee® apples are a perfect sweet snack for Daniella Monet’s family. Her kids love how sweet and crunchy they are, so much so that they go through over 2 bags of SugarBee® apples a week! This simple recipe is super easy and makes the perfect Valentine’s Day treat! Even after air frying the apples, you still get the amazing flavor notes of honey, caramel and molasses.

Tools:

  • Heart shaped cookie cutter

Ingredients:

  • 3 SugarBee apples
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • ½ cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

  1. Start by slicing your apples into thin slices. Be sure that they are large enough (area wise) to cut out hearts onto them.
  2. Once you have your apples sliced, take out your stainless-steel heart shaped cookie cutter and cut out hearts. Be sure to save the scraps! You can enjoy these as you cook!
  3. Place the apples on a tray and pop into the airfryer at 350 for 10-15 minutes. Be sure to check on them as you go. If you cut thinner pieces, they might need less time and vice versa.
  4. While on the stove, put about 2 inches of water in a pot. Find a glass, heat safe bowl that can be placed into the pan (be sure that it doesn’t touch the bottom of the pan). Add in your coconut oil and chocolate chips of choice. Leave on medium heat and continue to mix until it reaches a melted chocolate consistency.
  5. Once the apples are air fried to desired crunchiness, take out of the air fryer and drizzle on your melted chocolate! Place in the freezer for 10-15 minutes!
  6. Take out and enjoy them BEEfore they are all eaten by your family!

Note: You can also skip the airfrying and add the melted chocolate right onto the heart shaped apples for an even easier Valentine’s Day snack!
